Little Sparks Band Camp

Students of guitar, bass, and piano (and to some degree drums) lack the built in opportunities to make music with their peers that school bands and orchestras offer brass, woodwind and string students. Little Sparks offers youth (and adults) a chance to play music in an ensemble setting under the guidance of professional musicians. LSBC programs typically run 6-8 weeks and include a performance opportunity at the conclusion of the program. Repertoire varies and is geared toward the tastes and skill levels of each group.

Little Sparks is open to nearly all instruments. It’s not for total beginners and in general enrollees should be studying with a teacher but if you want to play we want you; we’ve been very successful at grouping people of similar ages and skill levels.

The Lightways are FSM students who came together through Little Sparks in late 2019 and have continued with us on and off since then. With members still only in 7th and 8th grades, they’ve already performed in the Shorewood 4th of July Parade, St. Agnes Church Festival, Linneman’s Riverwest Inn, Dugout 54, Rockfield Music, and Sprecher Brewery. Here they are playing a backyard party in the summer of 2022.
